About Me

I’m Sousana Ekladious, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and the founder of Cross-Cultural Psychotherapy.

My practice was born out of a deep understanding that traditional therapy often misses the mark for those navigating multiple worlds. Whether you're an immigrant, a child of immigrants, an expat, an international student, or identify as a BIPOC, you deserve a space where your background isn't something you have to explain. It’s the foundation of our work together.

Sousana Ekladious, LMHC - Cross-Cultural Psychotherapy in Florida
My Background and credentials...

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida, where I focused on the intersection of mental health and cultural identity. To provide you with the highest level of care, I have pursued advanced training in evidence-based modalities that go beyond "talk therapy" to create real, nervous-system-level change:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for processing trauma

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for managing anxiety and shifting patterns

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for developing emotional regulation and resilience

  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for gaining insight into your past and relationship patterns

I specialize in helping adults and teens...

navigate the complex "in-between" spaces of life. My primary areas of focus include:

  • Intergenerational and racial trauma, empowering you to manage the expectations of your family, culture, and community

  • High-functioning anxiety and burnout as I support you calm the hypervigilance that comes from always trying to "fit in"

  • Identity concerns as I can support you in exploring the complex layers of who you are

  • Life transitions and adjustment, helping you navigate new environments with a grounded sense of self

  • Relationship and boundary concerns, equipping you with tools to establish healthy connections while honoring your cultural roots

One of the most meaningful parts of my work is…

creating a space where clients feel seen and understood without having to over-explain their background, culture, or family dynamics. I value moments when clients begin to feel grounded, connected to themselves, and able to relate to their experiences with clarity and self-compassion.

On a personal note...

I have lived and worked in both the United States and Egypt at different stages of my life. Having traveled to many different parts of the world, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the unique perspectives and stories people carry. When I'm not in my office, I'm either exploring a new country or experimenting with a new dish.

I provide virtual therapy sessions...

via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to clients located anywhere in the state of Florida. By offering telehealth, I ensure that whether you're in Orlando, Miami, Tampa, or a rural community, you have access to specialized, culturally responsive care from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

I may be a good fit if...

you are tired of performing or explaining yourself and are ready to be seen, understood, and grounded. My practice, Cross-Cultural Psychotherapy, is designed for those valuing depth, wanting to honor their culture, and seeking emotional safety. My goal is to support you in understanding yourself within your cultural and personal context, rather than asking you to separate from it.
